The Report Module UI offers the ability to view or download a report. Whether a report can be viewed or downloaded depends on the report's type:

Downloadable types:

  • BIC/Excel
  • PDF

Viewable types:

  • DataGrid
  • PivotGrid

Viewing and downloading occurs from the same places in the UI. There are two locations in the UI of the Report Module from which reports can be viewed or downloaded:

  • the Report Overview
  • the Report Details page

Report Overview

To download or view a report from the Report Overview, navigate to the Report Overview in the main navigation menu and then click the eye icon for the respective report:

To download or view a report from the Report Details page, first click the pen icon for the respective report in the Report Overview, then click the green button marked with the play icon at the top right of the screen:

Parameter and Layout Selection

Once the button for viewing or downloading a report is clicked, two things may still need to be selected: filter parameter values and a layout.

Layout Selection

If the report has more than one layout defined, one of these layouts has to be selected to generate the report.

Simply click the layout of your choice in the list and click Ok to select it.

Parameter Selection

If the report has any filters defined in its datasource, parameter values for all filters have to be selected. It is possible for a report to not have any filters defined, in which case the parameter selection window is skipped.

In the parameter value selection window, select values for all parameters in the list.

For some data types, a dynamic system variable can be selected. The value of these variables can differ depending on when the report is run.

Selecting a system variable will make the current value of the variable appear in the selection component on the left.

Using "exact value" will make the system use a value that has been selected by hand in the selection component on the left.

Specify Download Location

If the type of the report you are trying to run is a downloadable type (BIC/excel or PDF), a location for the file to be downloaded may need to be selected (depending on your browser settings):

Select the download location and the download will begin in your browser.

Report Viewer

If the type of the report you are trying to run is a viewable type (DataGrid or PivotGrid), the Report Viewer is immediately opened, displaying your report:
