This manual describes how to install Sage Evolution (“Evolution”) on a server or a client machine. In chapter 3, the manual describes how to locate a database.

1         Installation of Evolution

1.1        Run the Setup of Evolution

In the installation files of Evolution, there is a setup file named “Setup.exe”. Run this application to start the setup.

1.2        Customer information

After running the Setup.exe, the Customer Information will show. Fill out a “User Name”, and “Organisation”. For “Country / Region”, always make sure to select “Other”. Select “Premium” for “Installation”.

Click on “Next”, which will ask you if you want to install Evolution on your computer. Click “Next” again.

1.3       Please select the relevant option

The next window will ask you if you want to upgrade an existing Sage Evolution installation, or if you want to start a new installation. Select “New Sage Evolution Installation” and hit “Next”.

1.4        End User Licence Agreement

The following window will show you the “Software Licence and Subscription Agreement”. To continue the installation, select “I AGREE to the terms of the licence agreement” and click on “Next”.

1.5        Destination Folder

This window allows you to either customise the installation folder of Evolution or accept the default location. By default, Evolution will be installed in a “C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Evolution” folder.
Do not tick the box for “Always check this location for newer versions of Sage Evolution”. Go for “Next”.

1.6        Installation Type

In this step you will need to select the Installation Type of Evolution. In case of installing Sage on a client machine or a RDS server which will be used by clients, select “Workstation”. Click “Next”.

1.7        Selected Components

Select the components which needs to be installed and click “Next”. Select at least the following components:

-          Sage Intelligence Reporting

1.8        Program Shortcuts

In this step you indicate whether you want a shortcut to be created and for which user this shortcut needs to be added. Click “Next”.

1.9        Finalise the installation

Hit “Install” to start the installation of Evolution.
